PARADIGM OF APPLYING STATISTICS THEORY IN CONDUCTING SURVEYS
I cannot help not noticing the fact that many surveyors now ignore applying the principles of statistics theory in conducting their surveys - in particular sampling techniques, which may produce flawed data resulting from an inappropriate approach. Academic people have a good mastery of theory but they seem to lack actual practice. Hence the gap between theory and practice resulting from a lack of understanding of real circumstances ruling in the field. Is this fact or just a phenomenon?
